On what was, perhaps, the hottest day of the year, Berkshire Past Captains played against Surrey Past Captains, at the, very dry, Drift Golf Club. As the picture shows the fairways were dry but the greens had had some watering and this made them more playable.  

However, due to the extreme heat, the Course Marshall called everybody off the course after 9 holes, due to one of the players not feeling 100%.

This proved to be a sensible and correct decision agreed by the Captains of Berkshire and Surrey and enabled us all to have a couple of cold drinks prior to an 'early' but delicious dinner in the club house.  

The match result was agreed as a 'half'.
